Design: The design phase of our summer camp programming is under way. The New Land Camps team is designing a seasonal camps where youth are invited to take on the roles of interstellar explorers about to embark on a life-changing voyage across the stars. Our dedicated 'crew' of campers and staff will bring their characters to life and board the interstellar starship ISF Pando. As part of the crew, campers will take part in the design of the flagship Interstellar sleepaway camp while participating in educational role-play activities founded in promoting STEM competency and engagement with learning.

Pre-Production: Gathering Resources
Starting a seasonal camp and a retreat and conference center requires resources. We are looking for people interested in investment not just in learning and fun, but the future of humanity as we know it. Our donors will be part of creating a unique camp which utilizes the R.O.L.E. model of education (edularp). This play- and experience-centered teaching method blends play, business, and learning to create youth and adults who have an interest in promoting the beauty and resources of our planet and invested in creating a future together where we can aim for the stars. Beta-Testing at Associate Camps
Recently, we have partnered with associated camps to beta test some of our programming ideas. Just today we began a two-week mini version of "Unsettled" at a day camp. Campers responded to the prompts with excitement and creativity. They began to build their shelters and design their starbase! More updates to follow as we are able to touch back in with you all here as the beta testing continues.
Funding Development
In 2026, NLC is beginning funds procurement for our summer camp programming and venue procurement. We run this funding drive side by side with our larger funding phase start.
